The pencil sketches/drawings that have developed from the first lines, drawn on whatever material was found to be the first one by the artists. So it is considered to be the most basic form of art on paper. In today's world, there is a rise of medium explorations, but pencil sketches are not dead at all. They seem to be still very important to the audience that seem to share the love for this kind of art form, as well as to the artists.
The first pencil sketches were seen in the cave man paintings which were used for the ritual purposes or you can say , entertainment.
The pencil sketches and the drawings in today's world are considered as the independent forms of art.
Pencil shading is an amazing technique which truly brings out the depth and life to one's two dimensional flat drawings, which can give it a natural appeal. Without shading a drawing looks lifeless and dead, it just breathes life into the drawing. It successfully brings out the 3 dimensions of the subject bringing out its true originality. It adds value to the subject, brings out the uniqueness and makes the subject more identifiable. And no doubt, adds a touch of professionalism also, which makes the sketch stand out from the rest.
