Technology has largely dominated almost all the major industrial sectors of the world and its impact can equally be seen on the global auto market, The technology is the Augmented reality.

Augmented reality (AR) is a direct or indirect live view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are "augmented" by computer-generated perceptual information, ideally across multiple sensory modalities, including visual, auditory, haptic, somatosensory, and olfactory.

Augmented Reality is more than just an engaging medium and we believe it is a new way to communicate.

HUD

A head-up display or heads-up display, also known as a HUD, is any transparent display that presents data without requiring users to look away from their usual viewpoints. The origin of the name stems from a pilot being able to view information with the head positioned "up" and looking forward, instead of angled down looking at lower instruments.

Head-up Display (Car head-up display) technology has been around since the World War II. It was developed for the fighter jet planes to engage the enemy aircrafts and targets without any distractions.

In the 80’s, it did make its presence felt in the automobile industry but in a very basic form.

Now a days, display will allow the driver to get information about the distance of the car ahead of him and will feature arrows as to how the car should be manoeuvred safely. The augmented GPS system will check which lane is suitable for the car to be driven on and will guide the driver on the correct path through a large display. What's more interesting is that this augmented reality car dashboard will also allow the driver to zoom in on a particular object through a touchscreen system and will provide a vivid display of the road ahead. Experts believe that such a technology will largely benefit the driveability of each individual and will also help in keeping him/her much safer on the roads.

List of companies using HUD for infotainment

BMW

Mercedes

Volvo

Jaguar

Augmented reality brings several advantages to the automotive industry — by creating a new level of awareness and safety. By making sure the drivers can see the roads well so he/she can drive without mishaps in any kind of terrain. AR is really making huge waves in the automotive industry
