According to the Oxford dictionary “junk” means having a superficial appeal or utility, but lacking substance.
The same goes for what we wear, much like fast food, the fast-fashion industry is pumping out cheap, poor-quality pieces subsidizing its low prices with tolls on the environment and, often, human rights.
In the era of fast fashion, an average consumer is buying 400 percent more fashion than 20 years ago. The movie Truecost also reveals that approximately 82 pounds pf clothing per person goes into the landfills each year.
The way junk food clogs out system and leads to adverse side effects, junk clothing is deteriorating our environment faster than we can comprehend. It is time for us as consumers to give junk clothing a pass and switch to more responsible fashion.
The above visuals are made using some of the favorite popular food of people and juxtaposing them with their beloved brands. These striking visuals are meant to draw attention of this easily distracted generation to a grim concern.
